While Zeiss Master Primes are considered the pinnacle of performance, Zeiss Ultra Primes are a more affordable high performance set of lenses. Clarity and sharpness with uniform brightness across the image area, high MTF, purer more intense colors even at full aperture. Excellent close focus capability.
Ultra Primes are smaller and lighter than Master Primes, so they are often preferred for cameras mounted on gimbal stabilizers.
